#Wordfortheweek 2019 Week 4 #New Thing

“Remember ye not the former things, neither consider the things of old. Behold, I will do a new thing; now it shall spring forth; shall ye not know it? I will even make a way in the wilderness, and rivers in the desert.”  Isaiah‬ ‭43:18-19‬ ‭KJV‬‬‬‬

I was privilege to attend an annual retreat with a group of wonderful Christian sisters recently. The theme for the group was based on Isaiah 43:19 – A new thing. Most of us love new things; new house, new car, new clothes, some even new face! At the beginning of each year many have new goals and plans to fulfill for the year. When Elohim God by Himself says He will do a new thing, I want that above all.

‘Old thing’ is defined by Webster dictionary as relating to or occurring in the past. Cambridge dictionary defines it as, of or in an earlier time; before the present time or in the past:

A new thing is a change from the past.

One thing Yahweh God has done for us is to give us a new thing When I look back at who I used to be and who I am now – in Christ, it is a new thing. - my salvation; through Jesus. We are a new creature, old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new… (‭‭2 Corinthians‬ ‭5:17-18‬ ‭KJV‬‬‬‬‬‬). We are to remember not our sinful acts through who we used to be and things we used to do that are contrary to righteousness.

We are a new creature. But Elohim is asking, can you not perceive it? Do you not have revelation of who you are in Christ Jesus, the son of the King of kings, Lord of lords?

This new thing that God has done will take you to eternity. This new thing will enable you to walk through the valley of the shadow of death and fear no evil. You will pass through the rivers and they shall not overflow me. You will walk through the fire and not be burned, nor shall the flame scorch you.
Because you know and perceive and embrace Who He is.

But many of us are still holding on to the former things - Old mindset, traditions of men, things of the flesh, old bad characters and attitudes is still in us. We have the head knowledge of the new thing but not the heart revelation. There is no transformation by the renewal of the mind. You know it, but you have not accepted it, believed it and embraced it. You say the grace is there, but you are not taking hold of the grace.

Elohim has done His part. You must do yours; by walking in the new life in Christ Jesus.
His character must be reflected in yours. Your life, a reflection of His.

You know yourself. How do people experience you? Will they say you talk the talk, and walk the talk? Or is it all about talk.

You know yourself.

#Prayerfortheweek
Almighty Father, in the name of Christ Jesus may I walk in the grace of my salvation in Yeshua. May I remember not the old things. May I walk as a new creature in Christ and in the power of the Holy Spirit reflecting Yeshua in talk, in acts and in character. Amen

I pray this inspires you to be more and do more for Yeshua Ha Mashiach (Jesus Christ). Spend this week to meditate on the passage and take relevant step to live out your faith.
