“And if it seems evil
to you to serve the Lord, choose for yourselves this day whom you will serve,
whether the gods which your fathers served that were on the other side of
[a]the River, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land you dwell. But as for
me and my house, we will serve the Lord.” Joshua 24:15 NKJV
Joshua was not one of my ‘big’ biblical hero until recently. I think
the fact that he never planned a successor like Moses did of him sort of put me
off. I am of the leadership school that believes every leader should have
succession plan in place before their death. How could he leave the people leaderless?
Anyway, as I went through my bible
study with members of the #SinglenessinChristfellowship, I was struck by how
extraordinary his relationship with Elohim was. For goodness sake this man
spoke to God and commanded the sun and moon to stand still. The bible recorded
that “And there has been no day like that, before it or after it, that the LORD
heeded the voice of a man; for the LORD fought for Israel.” Joshua 10:14 NKJV
In fact, the amazing thing was also how God fought the battles for the
people through Joshua. Yes, it was Moses that brought the people of Israel out
of Egypt, but it was Joshua that led them into the promise land. Many awesome
miracles were done by Elohim through Joshua including the supernatural defeat
of Jericho. Thirty-one kings were defeated by Joshua, dispossessing the natives
of the land promised to the Israelite.
My insight from the life of Joshua was how he loved the Lord and was
humble in serving Moses. His faith was unshakable, even when he saw giants. No
accident or incident leading to sin was recorded about his life.
Joshua was a man sold out to his God, totally and completely, a worthy hero
of faith

Almighty Father help me to live my life completely sold out to you, spotless. Amen
I pray this inspires you to be more and do more for Yeshua Ha Mashiach (Jesus Christ). Spend this week to meditate on the
passage and take relevant step to live out your faith.
