#Wordfortheweek Week 1 #Blank

And he said, “Brethren and fathers, listen: The God of glory appeared to our father Abraham when he was in Mesopotamia, before he dwelt in Haran, and said to him, ‘Get out of your country and from your relatives, and come to a land that I will show you.” Acts 7:2-3 NKJV

Imagine you are sitting and starring at a blank sheet of paper and willing the words to appear. As a writer, I understood what it is to have the so-called writer’s block – there is the desire to write but the words just would not come. Or it could be that your mind was clear about what you want to communicate but you are finding it difficult to put into the right words that transmits the message. Sometimes you just go with your instinct especially where you are dependent on the Spirit of God for the revelation.

Abraham was told by God to leave his familiar territory and go to a place he had never been. God basically gave Abraham a blank map. The only thing that was clear was Abraham’s starting location. He had to depend on his God to direct his footsteps on this invisible map. Abraham had faith and complete trust in Jehovah. Even when there was famine along the way, going to war with enemies, parting of ways with his nephew, uncertainty about his heir, Abraham walked with God. And what an exciting walk of life it was.

Last year thought me that our walk with Jehovah must be a walk by His side. The difference with any other type of walk is that He leads the direction and you just step in line with His steps.

My desire this year is to give Jehovah God that blank sheet of paper and let Him map out the path for me to walk this year. He leads, I follow. I know the destination will be great and the journey exciting!

How about you? Have you mapped out your pathways this year without your God? It is not too late to tear it up and give Him that blank sheet.

Welcome to your new year of walk with our God.

#Prayerfortheweek
Almighty Father, thank You for blessing me with another year in the land of the living. I commit this year to Your plans for me oh Lord. May Your word be a lamp for my feet, a light on my path. To the glory of Your Holy Name. In Jesus name I pray. Amen.
I pray that this inspires you to reflect on your relationship with Elohim and be determined to be more and do more for Him in 2020.
