#Wordfortheweek Week 35 #Worship

I will praise You, O Lord , with my whole heart; I will tell of all Your marvellous works. I will be glad and rejoice in You; I will sing praise to Your name, O Most High. Psalms 9:1-2 NKJV

It was only in recent years that I was able to truly understand what worship was.

When I started my personal walk with Elohim God about fifteen years ago, I would sing but felt detached. I would pray and say all the right spiritual words, but I did not feel it.

I remembered a day we were praying about how we loved Elohim God and I was thinking; what does that mean, truly? My understanding then was that love was something you feel, had to feel. I knew the love I felt for my husband, my children, my family and even close friends. I could feel the essence of it in me.

But here I was praying about love to Elohim that I was not feeling. I have since learnt of course that love is not about feeling but decision.

Nevertheless, love is an emotion you can feel. And I wanted that experience towards God. I turned my prayer to this – asking the One who is LOVE to fill my heart, my soul and my being with this indescribable virtue. I also began to immerse myself in songs of worship.

As I grew in Yeshua Jesus and in the holy scriptures, I began to ‘see’, know and experience the wonder of God in my life. I grew from just worshipping Elohim God from a religious process to worshipping Him from the heart. Now, I feel the Almighty. I feel love. The type of love that erupts from the depth of your heart and burst out in pure worship with the most beautiful aroma.

When you dig into the word of Elohim God, the nuggets you find are eternal. Do not stay on the surface. Dig deep. Dig deeper. And worship will erupt from the depth of your heart.

When you reflect on the wonder of Elohim God in your life, the love that fills your heart is indescribable.

When you engage in prayer with Elohim God, the splendour of being in His presence overwhelms you.

All these acts are worship

Almighty Father, I will praise You, O Lord, with my whole heart; I will tell of all Your marvellous works. I will be glad and rejoice in You; I will sing praise to Your name, O Most High. Amen

I pray that this inspires you to reflect on your relationship with Elohim and be determined to be more and do more for Him each day.

#Wordfortheweek Week 34 #Example

“Imitate me, just as I also imitate Christ.”  I Corinthians 11:1 NKJV

I have come to believe that each decade of life has its own unique lessons. The decade of my life that I would love to have the opportunity to live again is my twenties.

Our twenties represent a period of young adulthood, many enjoying physically and financially independence from their parents.

It’s also a period when many wants to take decisions and not be ‘directed’ or ‘instructed’ by anyone especially an elder.

As a parent, we have life experiences that our child doesn’t. It is difficult to keep quiet when you see your children making wrong decisions and choices. Yet, being directive with a young adult would not lead to the reaction you want.

At a certain stage of life, influencing other people is not commanding or demanding but showing by example. Your life should reflect what is right and in line with the word of Elohim God.

At a stage in our children’s life, teaching them is more effective by our own lifestyle. Actions speaks louder than words.

Apostle Paul knew the place of instructions and the impact of being a living example. He was very confident to encourage Timothy to follow him because his life was a reflection of Yeshua. Paul was an example worth emulating. He could say, ‘do as I say and do’.

How about you saints of the Almighty God, is your life a reflection of the faith that you professed? The best evangelism is our life.

In every area of your life - parenthood, workplace, community, friendship, let it be the best reflection of Christ.

#Prayerfortheweek

Almighty Father give me the grace to imitate Yeshua and be an example in word and in deed. Amen

I pray that this inspires you to reflect on your relationship with Elohim and be determined to be more and do more for Him each day.

#Wordfortheweek Week 33 #Sight

"What do you want Me to do for you?” He said, “Lord, that I may receive my sight.” Luke 18:41 NKJV

Having the ability to see with our eyes is a blessing of the Lord. When our eyes are functioning as they should, we are able to see things around us. We do not depend on any assistance to move or to read.

When Bartimaeus heard that Jesus was passing by he cried out to Him so loud, ignoring the rebuke from those around. And Jesus stopped and asked him what he wanted. He begged to receive his sight.

Bartimaeus knew his inability to see was limiting his ability to progress in life, to move forward he needed his sight.

Blindness is not limited to physical disability, it could be spiritually as well. Where there is no revelation or understanding, there is blindness. When there is no insight of what to do or what is right, there is blindness. When you are not able to see what is around you, there is blindness.

The widow of Zarephath (1 Kings 17) was starving with her son because she could not see the resource in her possession. Many people worry about what they do not have because they are blind to what they do have.

Bartimaeus understood his problem and knew the only one who could give him sight was Jesus. Hence, he cried out, at the top of his lungs, not minding the distractions. “Jesus, Jesus son of David have mercy on me.”

Spiritual maturity leads to spiritual sight through Christ Jesus. We do not need to grope in the darkness, bumping and stumbling seeking the way.

Jesus is the Way, the Truth and Life. His light gives sight and illuminate our path. We shall never grope in the darkness ever again.

“Then Jesus told him, “I entered this world to render judgment—to give sight to the blind and to show those who think they see that they are blind.”” John 9:39 NLT

#Prayerfortheweek

Jesus, Jesus son of David have mercy on me. Father open my eyes to see Jesus and the blessings all around me.

Amen

I pray that this inspires you to reflect on your relationship with Elohim and be determined to be more and do more for Him each day.

#Wordfortheweek Week 32 #Worry

“Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.” Matthew 11:28 NKJV

The world is in economic crisis not least because of the corona virus pandemic but also  the uncertainties about the future in the present we live in.

Saints and unbelievers are bent over with worry - about being infected with the virus; worry about finances; stressed about relationships; their job and other worries.

When you are bent over it is difficult to see straight.

It is possible not to see Yeshua Christ from a bent position because you are carrying all the worry in your mind and have pushed Christ out. Yet, He is the only One who can relieve you of your burdens.

He has invited us to cast our burdens on Him. He shall sustain us.

In our journey to spiritual maturity, we must leave anxiety behind and match forward with prayer and thanksgiving making our request known to Christ.

After all, Yeshua is much bigger than our burden. Trust Him and trust in Him.

#Prayerfortheweek

Almighty Father, Thank You for your promises over my life. I humble myself under Your mighty hand of God. I cast all my burdens upon You and rest in Yeshua Jesus Christ. Amen

I pray that this inspires you to reflect on your relationship with Elohim and be determined to be more and do more for Him each day.
