Think about the things of heaven, not the things of earth. For you died to this life, and your real life is hidden with Christ in God. And when Christ, who is your life, is revealed to the whole world, you will share in all his glory... Put on your new nature and be renewed as you learn to know your Creator and become like him. In this new life, it doesn’t matter if you are a Jew or a Gentile, circumcised or uncircumcised, barbaric, uncivilized, slave, or free. Christ is all that matters, and he lives in all of us.” Colossians 3:1-4, 10-11 NLT

For believers in Yeshua Christ, we depend on two things - the word of Elohim and the help of the Holy Spirit. When we relegate Christianity to set of rules and activities, we miss the amazing truths that transforms life through a renewed mind.

 

Our faith is based on what we believe and hope. As we study the word of Elohim God, we can either believe it or not. What we believe can either become our prison or our freedom. Our mindset can either become a transformative agent or a mind trap.

 

The book of Colossians was written by Apostle Paul to Christians in Colosse (in modern day Turkey). Paul addressed issues of false teaching which had infiltrated the Church - combining philosophy, Judaism and Christian ideas. What he taught are vital for our own mindset today. What we believe or disbelieve shapes our behaviour and approach to life.

 

Sometimes what we experience, what we are taught in school of the world and our intellect can come into conflict with the word of God. It is easy to say that we should just accept the word. This won’t have any effect if our mind is not in agreement. 

 

The good news about the wonderful grace of Elohim God should lead to a mindset of knowing and growing in knowledge of the Lord; honouring and pleasing Him. We have been rescued from the kingdom of darkness and been transferred into the Kingdom of Yeshua, who purchased our freedom by his death. Our sins are forgiven - wiped out. Our mindset should be that of a citizen of the Kingdom of Yeshua. 

 

We should not have the mindset of a sinner, of condemnation, bowed down in shame and guilt. We must understand and accept what Christ has done for us and our new identity, not what people say we are.

 

Yeshua Jesus Christ is the visible image of the Father. He came to us as God in the flesh. He is eternal, existed before and hold all creation together. Through him the Father created all things in the heavenly realms and on earth, even thrones, kingdoms, rulers and authorities of the seen and unseen world. Yeshua Jesus have dominion overall.

Our mindset is that Jesus is the fullness of God the Father. The only access and relationship with the Father. This mindset will prevent us from looking for other gods/alternatives to the Almighty.

Jesus was real on earth. He died physically to pay the price of our sins. We have been made holy, blameless and above reproach in his sight. If we continue in the faith!

My mindset is that there is no condemnation for me. My sins have been forgiven. My mindset is that of a new creature in Christ. My sinful nature is no more. I believe it. accept it. Sin has no power over me.

In Christ lived all the fullness of God in a human body. We are complete through our union with him who is the head over every ruler and authority. When we came to Christ, he performed a spiritual circumcision - cutting away our sinful nature. When we were baptised, we went through spiritual rebirth to a new life. We became alive in Christ. Every charge against us was taken away and nailed to the cross. Hallelujah! (Colossians 2:13-14).

 

Jesus defeated all spiritual rulers and authorities. He shamed them publicly by his victory over them on the cross. He died and he rose again. Our mindset is that no spiritual power, rules, principalities nor authorities have any power over us.

 

Christ is the reality of spiritual rules and regulations (Colossians 2:16-23). Rules that make activities a means of relationship with the Father is no longer valid. Christ is the only means of relationship with the Father. Self-denial, worship of angels, rules of the world, severe bodily discipline - all the things that do not take away evil desires are of no effect. 

Our mindset is Christ our reality, not rules and regulation. Our life is hidden in Christ in God the Father.

 

Our eternal destination is sure, so heaven should fill our minds and mindset. As we have accepted Christ Jesus as our Lord, we must continue to follow him. Our roots must grow down into him and our lives must be built on him. We must be mindful of human thinking and spiritual powers of this world. We must set our sights and mind on the realities of heaven where Christ sits in the place of honour at God’s right hand. We must constantly think about the things of heaven. 

Our mindset must be about heaven not the things of earth. We shall share in Christ’s glory when he is revealed to the whole word.

 

I believe it. My mind is transformed by it. How about you?

 

Do you know something? This wonderful mindset is available through a relationship with Yeshua Christ Jesus. If you do not have this relationship, why not give it a go today?

 

It’s simple to do this; believe in your heart that Jesus is the son of God, raised from the dead. Accept him as your Lord and Saviour by confessing him with your mouth. “For it is by believing in your heart that you are made right with God, and it is by openly declaring your faith that you are saved (Romans 10:9,10 NLT)

 

And start that wonderful journey with Him immediately. I encourage you to search for a bible teaching fellowship near you for support and your spiritual growth.

Almighty Father, thank You for the gift of my salvation and the Holy Spirit. In the mighty name of Yeshua Christ Jesus. I pray that I may grow in the  complete knowledge of Your will my Father. Grant me spiritual wisdom and understanding that the way I live will always honour and be pleasing to you Lord. May my life produce every kind of good fruit as I know You better and better. May I be filled with spiritual strength, endurance and patience, joy, always thankful in all things.

WordfortheWeek Week 12 Who is Jesus to me? Part 1

“When Jesus came into the region of Caesarea Philippi, He asked His disciples, saying, “Who do men say that I, the Son of Man, am?” So they said, “Some say John the Baptist, some Elijah, and others Jeremiah or one of the prophets.” He said to them, “But who do you say that I am?” Simon Peter answered and said, “You are the Christ, the Son of the living God.” Jesus answered and said to him, “Blessed are you, Simon Bar-Jonah, for flesh and blood has not revealed this to you, but My Father who is in heaven.” Matthew‬ ‭16:13-17‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

My knowledge of Christ started from a religious perspective, then a head knowledge to a place of experience - still after the fact, for example praying to get a job, got it and then thanking Yeshua for making it happen.

There was something missing - a deep personal knowledge that comes from relationship. It is a knowledge that is grounded, rooted and cemented in understanding who he is.

Many people get to know Christ from an experience - loss, health issues, or one need or the other. Then they see him for what he can do. And as a result they get to know him as a healer, provider and so forth.

It’s quite interesting that Jesus first asked his disciples who other people said
he was. Then he asked them ‘Who do you say I am?” This meant, it was not just about what other people said about him, but what they thought.

I was born into a religious family but I made the decision and chose to follow Yeshua as an adult. My knowledge of Yeshua was based on what I heard (faith comes by hearing and hearing the word of God and testimonies).  It was about other people’s perspectives. Even as I read about him in the bible, it was still about what other people said and what he said about himself.

Over the years, I realised how my faith really was from a head perspective not heart revelation. I realised that  there was a gap between the head and the heart knowledge.

It is having the heart understanding that truly strengthens faith and deepens trust in Yeshua. Because we know who he truly is, not from what other people say but the revelation in our heart.

And Jesus said to Peter. No flesh and blood has not revealed this to you, but My Father who is in heaven. Isn’t that illuminating. We can not know who Yeshua is - at a personal level without that revelation from Yahweh, God the Father.

As a believer who is Jesus to you?

#Wordfortheweek Week 34 #Example

“Imitate me, just as I also imitate Christ.”  I Corinthians 11:1 NKJV

I have come to believe that each decade of life has its own unique lessons. The decade of my life that I would love to have the opportunity to live again is my twenties.

Our twenties represent a period of young adulthood, many enjoying physically and financially independence from their parents.  

It’s also a period when many wants to take decisions and not be ‘directed’ or ‘instructed’ by anyone especially an elder.

As a parent, we have life experiences that our child doesn’t. It is difficult to keep quiet when you see your children making wrong decisions and choices. Yet, being directive with a young adult would not lead to the reaction you want.

At a certain stage of life, influencing other people is not commanding or demanding but showing by example. Your life should reflect what is right and in line with the word of Elohim God.

At a stage in our children’s life, teaching them is more effective by our own lifestyle. Actions speaks louder than words.

Apostle Paul knew the place of instructions and the impact of being a living example. He was very confident to encourage Timothy to follow him because his life was a reflection of Yeshua. Paul was an example worth emulating. He could say, ‘do as I say and do’.

How about you saints of the Almighty God, is your life a reflection of the faith that you professed? The best evangelism is our life.

In every area of your life - parenthood, workplace, community, friendship, let it be the best reflection of Christ.

#Wordfortheweek 2019 Week 17 #Familiarity breeds #Contempt

And Moses said to Aaron, “This is what the Lord spoke, saying: ‘By those who come near Me. I must be regarded as holy; And before all the people I must be glorified.’” Leviticus 10:3

Nadab and Abihu, were the first two sons of Aaron. They were in a privileged position, as chosen priests of the Most High God. They had just gone through a thorough induction and training with Moses on the commandment of Elohim for their role as priests. They partook of the priestly ministerial process. They saw how everything was done painstakingly - sanctified and made holy first. The instructions from Elohim God was very precise. But they presumed to know better than Moses and Aaron.

How many of us are guilty of the same thing albeit in a different way. We read the bible, we go to church, hear sermons regularly and some of us are even preachers of the word. Yet we treat things of God as unto man. We interpret His words how we desire it. We demand of Him than give to Him as if He is at our beck and call. Despite the righteousness inputted on us by the sacrifice of Yeshua, we still roll comfortable in unholy living and think we can come near the Holy God.

It is very easy to fall into over-familiarity in our relationship with God, ignoring His specific commandments after-all He is only God. Because He is patient with us, we take His things for granted, testing if He would actually execute judgement now that Jesus Christ has died for our sin. Familiarity is now breeding a generation of contempt rather than the fear of the Almighty God.

How about the reproach we bring to God through our actions. When you adopt the Christian faith, you are making a declaration of where you belong and of whom you are – Christ’s.  You are a representative of the Kingdom of Elohim God. You are in the world as the salt of the earth and the light of the world.  Holiness and holy living is not a desirable option but essential for those who will come near Elohim.

We must daily, be mindful that our actions is not bringing reproach to the name of the LORD, rather it glorifies Him before all people.

Almighty Father, thank You for the gift of my salvation. Thank You for choosing me and entrusting me with the work of Your Kingdom. Help me to obey Your commandment in every way. May I not offer profane worship to You oh LORD, my God. In Jesus name, I pray. Amen

#WordforToday 14 Nov 2018 Starve it to death

For he who sows to his flesh will of the flesh reap corruption, but he who sows to the Spirit will of the Spirit reap everlasting life. Galatians 6:8 NKJV

I found the above passage fascinating. I always find the word of Elohim fascinating anyway. I found it illuminating that it is possible to sow to the flesh or the Spirit.

Elohim set in place this universal principle of sowing and reaping. You sow into a soil. If the soil is fertile and receives necessary nutrients the seed germinates, grows and bring forth its fruit. If you sow to a soil that is not fertile, maybe dead or it's starved of nutrient the seed will not germinate

Now let us imagine our flesh is the soil. When we sow seeds - hatred, lies, unkindness, offence, unforgiveness etc, nurture these with acts and actions that feeds on it then we will reap the fruit of the flesh . Where the flesh is very much alive, these seeds will germinate, grow and produce fruits after its kind.

God's timeless principle of sowing and reaping.

As long as your flesh is still alive to the world and the things of the world you are providing a fertile ground for the seeds of sin. If the flesh is dead, no seed of corruption can germinate not to talk of grow.

Starve your flesh of the lust of the eyes, of the flesh and the pride of life. Do not provide the necessary nutrient for the seed of the flesh to grow. Spend your time sowing to the things of the Spirit.

Almighty Father, thank You for giving us Your timeless principle of sowing and reaping. Help me to sow to the Spirit and not the flesh that I may reap everlasting life. Give me the grace to put to death those things of the flesh. In the name of Yeshua Jesus I pray. Amen

"For not even those who are circumcised keep the law, but they desire to have you circumcised that they may boast in your flesh".  Galatians 6:13

This passage reminded me of those who glory in the number of attendance in their Church as a demonstration of number of people being led to Christ. 

The 'foolish' Galatians were bewitched with false doctrines. I can understand how this is possible. Just imagine a tradition of hundreds of years - the sign of the covenant, circumcision of the flesh. An outward act was not easily discarded for something invisible - circumcision of the heart.

As a believer, it is foolish also to believe the works we do demonstrates our righteousness. Rather, our works should be as a result of the righteousness of Christ in us. A circumcised heart will lead to righteous acts not the other way round. You can fake righteous act but not a circumcised heart.

#WordforToday 12 Nov 2018 You are not cursed

"For as many as are of the works of the law are under the curse; for it is written, “Cursed is everyone who does not continue in all things which are written in the book of the law, to do them.” Galatians 3:10

I am always amazed how insightful the word of God is; one passage brings illumination of another even though they are written by different people.

Sometimes in the Christendom we struggle with the issue of law and grace. Especially with some aspects in the law where people are told they are cursed if they do not do this or that. How can you take only a part of the law and ignore others? 

Early on in my christian journey, I became very confused about somethings we are 'commanded' do. As I read the word I started questioning some of these things with close christian friends. An example is having to 'buy back' your first born (Ex 13:15). At the time it was said the sex does not matter and we were given an equivalent amount to pay. Maybe there was a revelation to do this or not I do not know. Did I pay? Yes I did, out of fear not necessarily faith.

What I do know is that the law given to the Israelite was not meant to be cherry picked. You can not put fear in people for one, two, a few or some aspects of the law and not all. All these laws had to be obeyed in its entirety.

Thank goodness for the dispensation of grace. Who can meet all the requirements of the law?

When ministers who are entrusted with  teaching the word of Elohim use the law to put the redeemed of the Lord back into the bondage of fear, surely this is not the gospel of Yeshua Jesus.

Our salvation is not dependent on the law. As the first child of my mother she does not need to 'buy me' back even if I am female. I am already redeemed by Christ Jesus.

There are principles that Elohim has laid down for this earth that He created. It does not matter whether you are Christian or not, if you key into these principles you will reap the benefit - seed time and harvest; giving and receiving; day time and night time, helping  the poor and so on. These principles are for all.

Do not be put back into bondage. Study and meditate on the word of Elohim God for yourself. And pray for the revelation of the Holy Spirit directly.

You are not cursed!

Now when Peter had come to Antioch, I withstood him to his face, because he was to be blamed; for before certain men came from James, he would eat with the Gentiles; but when they came, he withdrew and separated himself, fearing those who were of the circumcision. And the rest of the Jews also played the hypocrite with him, so that even Barnabas was carried away with their hypocrisy. 
Galatians 2:11‭-‬13 NKJV 

The story of Peter's hypocrisy made me reflected on how difficult it was to break the habit of a life time.

Many of us think that confessing our sin, repenting and accepting Jesus as Lord will automatically get rid of our bad habits. Don't get me wrong we are transformed spiritually, however there are still aspects of the flesh that will require a process to total transformation.

At the time Paul was writing to the Galatians, Peter had been long in ministry. This was a man whom Yeshua used to convict 5000 people through a single sermon, many sick had been healed, the lame walked and the blind received sight. Peter was mighty in the Lord. Yet, the habits inculcated in him as a Jew were still evident in his life. One such was not eating with the gentiles even if they were believers.

In my Christian walk I have found that there are so many old habits from my upbringing, culture and my own personality that I am having to reorient myself according to the principles of the Kingdom as evidenced in the bible. Likewise some new habits that I am (still work in progress) having to inculcate in my life one such is loving all people irrespective of their character. This can be so difficult sometimes I tell you. 

If you don't have bold people like Paul around you that can challenge your old bad habit, you have to challenge yourself with the word of God. No one is above mistake even spiritual leaders. 

But you as a believer bin your habits before they become a stumbling block to entering eternity. Little foxes do spoil the vine...

Almighty Father, give me abounding grace to put to death every bad habit that does not glorify You. Help me to develop kingdom habits to the glory of Your name in Christ Jesus I pray. Amen.

#WordforToday 8 Nov 2018 In or out of the box

“Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places in Christ,” Ephesians‬ ‭1:3‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

This is one of my favourite verses in the bible. To know that I am blessed with every spiritual blessing gives me confidence and assurance for courageous christian living.

Although there is a condition; it is only in Christ that we have access to these blessings. It is also worth noting that these spiritual blessings are in heavenly places in Christ - I guess why they are spiritual and not physical.

It is sad that many Christians think they can live as such without Christ. They compartmentalize Him to specific days or times of their lives. They do not talk about Him nor acknowledge Him as if He does not exist or only in the walls of a place called 'Church'.

Yet we know that in Him and through Him we live, we breath and we have our being. How is it possible to put Him in a box? Or maybe you put yourself in the box, too scared of what life might be in Christ? 

Being in Christ is living in Him. He is visible through us whilst we are invisible because people experience Christ through our lifestyle here on earth.

Is Christ visible in your life?

If you are not seated in Him. How do you reflect Him?

Stop making excuses for being outside of Him.

#WordforToday 2 Nov 2018 Crucify it

“And those who are Christ’s have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires.” Galatians‬ ‭5:24‬ ‭NKJV

Apostle Paul was writing to ‘born again’ Christians in Galatia. He told them that the lust of the flesh results in the works of the flesh and those who practice this will not inherit heaven. Wow! The hope of our salvation is reconciliation with God the Father and making it to heaven. Could we still miss it?

Yes, if we do not put to the death the lust of the flesh by walking in the Spirit. This is one of the challenges of our Christian journey. Many struggle with the flesh and do not understand what it means to walk in the Spirit.  Walking in the Spirit is an act that is totally alien to our world. This is not just the ability to blast in tongues or do miracles, signs and wonders. But it is one where the life of the Spirit is seen in the fruit of the Spirit-demonstrated character, lifestyle and choices; loving, peaceful, gentle, kind and the like.

The word of God says those who are Christ's have crucified the flesh with its passion. If we have, how could the works of the flesh still be evident in our life? The answer is in the passage.

If you belong to Christ, then you have crucified the flesh. I read that in another way - for you to belong to Christ you must have crucified the flesh.  You can't say  you belong to Christ but still under the dominion of your flesh and its lusts and passions. Isn't this illuminating?

How do you crucify the flesh? By walking in the Spirit (Gal 5:16), the lust of the flesh has no dominion over you.

As we are still in this earthly flesh, crucifying it is not a one-off act. It is a constant act of living and walking in the Spirit. It is not practicing the works of the flesh. It is a life of total submission to the Lordship of Jesus.

May we also be able to say like Paul; " I have been crucified with Christ; it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself for me."

#WordforToday 12 Sept 2018 Which tribe are you?

 “I do not pray for these alone, but also for those who will believe in Me through their word; that they all may be one, as You, Father, are in Me, and I in You; that they also may be one in Us, that the world may believe that You sent Me. And the glory which You gave Me I have given them, that they may be one just as We are one: I in them, and You in Me; that they may be made perfect in one, and that the world may know that You have sent Me, and have loved them as You have loved Me.” John 17:20

I was listening to a preaching about the body of Christ. The preacher was using the analogy of the tribes of Israel; why there are many denominations in the Christendom. She said the denominations can be liken to the tribes of Israel. It’s still one nation but with many tribes (twelve or thirteen with Joseph's two sons counted).

As I listened I thought - hmm interesting perspective, which tribe would I choose.  Of course you get it house of Judah! How about you?

We learnt from the bible; there was one family with twelve siblings that became a nation. They were meant to be one nation. Later, because of backsliding of the leader - Solomon the one nation became two (Southern kingdom or Kingdom of Judah and the northern kingdom or kingdom of Israel).

Biblical history told us that the northern slide into apostasy and they never found their way back to the True Elohim, eventually went into gentile slavery; assimilated and they never returned from captivity. However the smaller kingdom stayed true to their God, even when they backslide (don’t we all): they found their way back through repentance. They too eventually went into captivity but their remnant returned to the promise land.

Now, if church denominations are like the tribes of Israel, which one would you like to belong to? Those with the remnant or those that became lost because of idolatry?

Jesus Christ prayed for His disciples and those that come to believe in Him through their testimonies, that they may be one as He and His Father are one. It is only in unity there is perfection and evidence of the faith that we share. Not belonging to a tribe! We are one body in Christ Jesus.

Almighty Father, in the name of Yeshua Jesus, I pray for Your Church that we may be one, as You, Father, are in Yeshua and He in You; that we also may be one in You and Him, That the world may believe that You sent Your Son Yeshua And the glory which You gave Him will be ours. That we may be made perfect in one, and that the world may know that You have sent Yeshua and have loved us as You have loved Him. Amen

As I was studying the word of Elohim a few days ago I got to this verse and...a pause in my spirit.

Uh! Imitate me as I imitate Christ? Whoa. Who dare say that in this generation?

I imagined seated in Church on a Sunday and the Pastor said "Imitate me as I imitate Christ." I know the first thought that would cross my mind would be; why would I imitate you and not Christ - directly? Yes I can learn from you but Jesus is the standard not man.

That aside, how many of us can make that statement boldly with confidence and in truth like Apostle Paul? What made him confident that everything in and about him was like Christ? I'm sure a study of his life justify this statement. In my life, after Jesus, he is my inspiration for this christian journey.

We have many genuine ministers of the gospel, many that will never claim to be perfect as Jesus Christ, they continue to work out their faith with fear and trembling. Those that try to replace Christ in the heart of people are on a very slippery slop to idolatry.

I am ever mindful of self exaltation, it opens the door to the spirit of pride and idolatry. My priority is to point people to Yeshua Jesus not myself. I am still work-in-progress; working out my faith with fear and trembling, daily disciplining the flesh. I do not want to transfer my weaknesses to others, look unto Yeshua only.

Let no one put you on a pedestal, an elevated position you might not be able to maintain in this earthly flesh.

Point people to Christ. Do not become god to people.

Imitate only Yeshua. Do not let any humankind become god in your life.

Almighty Father Elohim. Thank You for the gift of my salvation. Thank You for giving me the grace to to work our my faith with fear and trembling. May I never take Your place in the heart of any human being. Help me to preach Christ and Him alone.  In the name of Yeshua our saviour. Amen.

WordforToday 9 May 2018 Who is wiser?

“So the master commended the unjust steward because he had dealt shrewdly. For the sons of this world are more shrewd in their generation than the sons of light.” Luke 16:8 NKJV

When I think about how Facebook has changed the world of friendship, I am amazed.

In just over a decade social media has reshaped the world of business.

A minority group has transformed the world culture on sexual orientation.

The world is being transformed in front of our eyes.

There was a time when Christian faith shaped nations. Laws were changed, society was reformed, culture was impacted. I look at the world today and search for the impact of the light of the world and the salt of the earth.

How are we transforming nations? Have we become so insular that we have let others occupy all the mountains of influence?

“Make disciples of nations”, “Occupy till I come”; “A light set upon the hill cannot be hidden.” And many more in the Holy Scriptures that is meant to reveal our identity, purpose and the will of Elohim for His children.

“For the sons of this world are more shrewd in their generation than the sons of light.” The rebuke by Jesus rings very true even in our generation.  Like the Israelite who thought Moses was not coming back because he tarried on the mountain, we too must not become complacent in the work of the gospel. Jesus is coming back.

All wisdom, knowledge and understanding we need are in the word of God. This should be our primary reference not the world standard.

We are in the world but not of the world. Sons of Elohim should occupy every platform of influence. We have to impact with Kingdom principles and standard, and transform our world. It is not enough to stay in the comfort of the four walls of a church, rubbing salt with salt, our lights hidden within these walls.

Go out and transform the world with your salt. Let your light shine in the darkness of this world. Let us take the world in every culture -  the home, religion, arts & entertainment, media, government, education and business for Christ Jesus.

We are wiser than the sons of this world.

#WordforToday 10 April 2018 Too spiritual?

The Lord directs the steps of the godly. He delights in every detail of their lives. Psalm 37:23 NKJV

I am always surprised when those who profess to be Christian chastised you for being 'too spiritual'. I wonder what that looks like. 

Oxford definition of spiritual is relating to or affecting the human spirit or soul as opposed to material or physical things. As Christians, our relationship with Elohim is through our spirit because Elohim is Spirit and those who worship Him must do so in spirit and truth. Being spiritual, to me is thus relating through our human spirit which is connected with the Almighty.

Being spiritual is not just any spirituality - as there are many such which is not of the true God Elohim. Being spiritual for a Christian is about being led by the Holy Spirit not your flesh.

With Elohim you are either for Him or not; in or out; black or white; hot or cold. There is no middle way.

For a people set apart, led by the Holy Spirit, being spiritual is business as usual. We are meant to see everything in this world through spiritual lens not our flesh. There is danger in compartmentalizing God in your life - putting Him in the Sunday box; the problem scenario; the convenient times and not in every detail of our life.

The Word of Elohim says He delights in every detail of our life; every mi-nute detail. So why would we limit His presence to certain areas or times? Are we telling Him not to bother because we can handle things on our own.

Of course spiritual things manifest in the physical. We have to do physical acts being led by the Holy Spirit. Our victory and success in life as a child of God is dependent on our relationship with God.

I would rather be over-spiritual (if there is any such thing) than un-spiritual as a professed child of the Almighty Jehovah.

Remember your faith is spiritual. The love of God is spiritual. The grace of God is spiritual. And God is Spirit. Those who worship Him will do so in spirit and truth (John 4:24). Not in flesh.

Next time you want to accuse someone of being too spiritual, pause and think like Jesus.

Give me abundance grace to walk in the Spirit, that I may not fulfill the lust of the flesh. For the flesh lusts against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh; and these are contrary to one another. May I be led by Your Spirit for I am not under the law but Your grace. May my life manifest the fruit of the Spirit - love, joy, peace, long-suffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. Then Jesus entered and passed through Jericho. Now behold, there  was a man named Zacchaeus who was a chief tax collector, and he was rich. This man had material wealth. He was at the top of his profession - not just an ordinary tax collector but a chief tax collector.

And he sought to see who Jesus was, but could not because of the crowd, for he was of short stature. Despite his wealth, his position he knew there was something missing in his life. He would have heard about Jesus - how he was changing lives; the blind seeing, the lame walking, how mute spoke with understanding, demons cast out, even sins forgiven. He wanted to physically see this Jesus but he was limited, by his stature with the throng of people around Jesus. How many of us want to see Jesus but are limited by our circumstances, situation, location - natural or self-made. How we react is dependent on how desperate we are. And Zaccheus was a desperate man. I like him. He did not use his position or wealth - by holding a feast and inviting  Jesus to dinner. What did he do?

So he ran ahead and climbed up into a sycamore tree to see Jesus, for He was going to pass that way. The rich man ran as fast as his short legs could carry him, undignified and without care of how it looks. He saw a tree and he climbed it. Surely not a sight to behold for someone rich with an important position in the society. But he didn't care. He had a mission to see Jesus. Oh the joy of seeing Jesus. He did not mind what people would say. He wanted to see Jesus. How passionate are you about seeing Jesus. Is your position or  wealth preventing you from doing whatever it takes to see Him?

And when Jesus came to the place, He looked up and saw him, and said to him, “Zacchaeus, make haste and come down, for today I must stay at your house.”  Zacchaeus

got more than he expected. He just wanted a sight but he got full attention and a visitation. Glory Hallelujah. Jesus sees our heart. How desperate is your heart for Him? Is it enough to make Him stop and visit with you? I can imagine Zacchaeus' joy. He would have laid out the  best dishes, cooked the fattest of lamb, the most expensive wine - after all he was loaded.

So he made haste and came down, and received Him joyfully. But when they saw it, they all complained, saying, “He has gone to be a guest with a man who is a sinner.”  Thank goodness, Jesus came for us sinners. He came to seek us and save us.

Then Zacchaeus stood and said to the Lord, “Look, Lord, I give half of my goods to the poor; and if I have taken anything from anyone by false accusation, I restore fourfold.” 
This verse says a lot about the character of this man. He had compassion. He was a man of integrity. He gave to the poor makes four-fold restitution even before his encounter with Jesus. His heart and character were in line with Kingdom standard. He was also a humble man - it takes humility to make restitution in my opinion. He could boldly challenged those that called him a sinner. I wonder how many of them could say the same like him.

No wonder Jesus said to him, “Today salvation has come to this house, because he also is a son of Abraham;  for the Son of Man has come to seek and to save that which was lost.”

This story inspired me to check my heart, the work of my hand, the depth of my determination to see Jesus; not letting any limitation in my life be an hindrance to running the race and seeing Jesus. I am encouraged that Jesus came to save me and through Him become a son of the Father.

Almighty Father, Help me to check my heart, the work of my hand, that I may not be found wanting in Your Kingdom. Help me not to let any limitation in my life be an hindrance to running the race and seeing Jesus. Let my enemy not find anything in my life that will bring reproach to Your holy name. In the name of Jesus I have prayed Amen
