#WordforToday 28th February 2018 Not ordinary but extraordinary

But the angel said to him, “Do not be afraid, Zacharias, for your prayer is heard; and your wife Elizabeth will bear you a son, and you shall call his name John. Luke 1:!3

The story of the birth of Jesus will be incomplete without that of John the Baptist. He was six months older than Jesus and they were cousins in the natural (I think they were best friends in heaven as well!).

John was born with the seed of man, thus had the indwelling sin. However it was not recorded anywhere that He sinned. It is possible my Christians friends, to live in this wicked world without sin, so stop blaming your flesh for your conscious decisions and actions.

Going back to John, his birth to one who was called barren was prophesied by the chief of angels - Gabriel like Jesus was. To fulfill the purpose of God - the One who turns the impossible to very possible. With God nothing is impossible. It's never too late with Him. That is why we must be steadfast and diligent in faith and trust  in Him. Have you been crying because people are calling you barren, your tears of sorrow shall turn to tears of joy soon. Be steadfast in faith. God heard Zacharias' prayers, He will surely hear yours. Our God is not deaf or hard of hearing.

John's birth was announced as glad tidings by Angel Gabriel. His name John (Yahweh is gracious) was given by God Himself and from the womb he was filled with the Holy Spirit. What a marvelous conception.
The purpose of his life is to 'turn many of the children of Israel to the Lord their God. He will also go before Him in the spirit and power of Elijah, ‘to turn the hearts of the fathers to the children,’ and the disobedient to the wisdom of the just, to make ready a people prepared for the Lord.”  Luke 1:16‭-‬17 NKJV.

He was to make ready a people prepared for the Lord. His life in his generation was not ordinary. John's life from his conception to his death was extraordinary. His death signified the start of the ministry of our Lord Jess Christ.

Every child born was created for a purpose. Is your child giving you problems? do not get stuck in the problems, seek God to know His purpose for your child. Start praying this into being. We are not born to go to hell. God's purpose for us is to give us a hope for eternity and a future. We are not born for an ordinary but extraordinary living.

#WordforToday 27th February 2018 Irresistible temptation

No temptation has overtaken you except such as is common to man; but God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted beyond what you are able, but with the temptation will also make the way of escape, that you may be able to bear it. 1 Corinthians 10:12

https://www.foodnetwork.com
I love fruit tarts. I can eat it every day. There was a time, in fact that I did eat it every day. I knew it was not healthy eating but I just could not resist, the temptation was too great. I tried to stop. Truly, I did but I kept falling.

Of course the bible passage above is not talking about fruit tarts. But the desire for something that you know you should avoid because it is sin in the sight of God.

We are tempted every day - by the lust of the eyes, the lust of the flesh and the pride of life. Every day we are tempted. And we fall, many times. We know we should not but we still do. Like Apostle Paul said; For the good that I will to do, I do not do; but the evil I will not to do, that I practice.  Now if I do what I will not to do, it is no longer I who do it, but sin that dwells in me. (Romans 7:19,20). The things I will not to do, that I do. I might say it is not I that do it (since I do not will it) but the sin in me. With life in Christ, surely this is an excuse?

It is easy for humankind to blame someone else when they give in to temptation. "Oh, it is the devil that made me do it;" "I could not help myself." "It is the sin me, I am still human after all." Really!  For a christian to still be in bondage to sin is impossible. Only those who do not know who they are in Christ Jesus.

Every temptation starts with a desire. The bible teaches us that each one of us is tempted when we are drawn away by our own desires and enticed (James 1:14). Our conscience acts like a caution because it tells us what is good or bad. After the fall of man, he knew what was good and evil (Gen 2:22).

So why do many christian keep falling into temptation? Like the temptation of my strawberry tart, I know it is not good for me yet I still eat it promising this would be the last time. Every time is always the last time!

As a child of God, with the Holy Spirit residence in us, we do know before we give in to temptation and we know what we have done after we do it. You can only fall by making a decision to do what will make you fall. If you are in Christ, falling into temptation is by-passing or stepping out of grace to sin. No devil can force you. It is your choice and your decision. You go where you know is not good for you. You eat what you shouldn't. You make friends with those you know might lead you astray.

The Wisdom of God says "flee every appearance of evil" but you are still making excuses for it. You think you are untouchable. When the bible says "flee" you flee. Don't stay and be speaking in tongues! What good would it do me if I stand in front of rows of fresh strawberry fruit tarts in Marks and Spencer with eyes closed and speaking in tongues. When I open my eyes the strawberries will be winking at me from the bed of fresh cream. Adeola, turn your back and flee the store!

Seriously, we are tempted with so many issues in life. Yet, there is no temptation that can overtake us that is not common to man. We do have the will to say no to it every time because God is faithful. He will not allow us to be tempted beyond what we are able to overcome. No matter how much the desire, He will make a way for us to bear it. His Wisdom tells us to resist; He gives more grace as we submit to Him. Flee from lust. Resist idolatry. Take your mind (and eyes) off the temptation. Check your mind into rehabilitation with the word, prayer and fasting. Take each day at a time, be thankful for overcoming today and be purposeful in overcoming tomorrow.

And if you do fall, don't stay down, get up and forward. You are in Christ Jesus. there is no temptation that is irresistible.

#PrayerforToday 27th February 2018
Almighty Father, thank You for the gift of my salvation. God of peace, crush Satan under my feet shortly. May I endure all temptation and be approved to receive the crown of life which You have promised to those who love You. In the name of Yeshua my Lord and Saviour I pray. Amen.

I pray this inspires you to be more and do more for Yeshua Ha Mashiach (Jesus Christ).

#WordforToday 26th Feb 2018 Designer Wear.

“But put on the Lord Jesus Christ,..” ‭‭Romans‬ ‭13:14‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

When I was younger, I thought it does not really matter the clothes you wear as long as it looks good on you. It was not about quality but what you can afford. Boy! What did I know.

Clothes transforms how you look. You can go from plain to beautiful; from ordinary to classy.
In my life, there are some clothes I wear when I want to be a couch potato (lounging on my settee and watching TV). In my career, there are clothes for meetings where you want to show leadership and others for Friday casuals. The clothes you wear has a way of not only changing your appearance, it portrays a lot about you as well.

Why is it that there is something different about designer outfit? If you have not worn one before you might think what is the big deal. But trust me, when you do, there is a difference; the quality, the texture, the shape everything just feels perfect. When you put it on, it even transforms the way you carry yourself. Its one of those times that it's wonderful to have money!

If you were given two clothes, one a dirty, stained, tattered gown. And the other a pure linen spotless perfectly fitted gown. Which would you choose?

Everyone was invited to the wedding banquet. A man did not have on a wedding garment. He was thrown out (Matthew 22:11-13). Why? If what we wear does not matter? This man was not properly attired for the occasion.

The Kingdom of God requires the right cloth. A white garment without spot or wrinkle. The garment of righteousness.

Paul exhorted us to “put on Christ”. When we are clothe with Christ, it transforms our whole life. God sees us wrapped in His Son and He sees righteousness and holiness. It immediately gains us entrance into His presence. We have His attention.

We are to put on Christ. No one will put Him on for you. You have to do it yourself. The garment is available, laid out waiting for you. Take off the old cloth, dirty, spotted, stained and put on the garment of righteousness that is Christ Jesus.

Your cloth does matter.

#PrayerforToday 26th February 2018
Almighty Father, thank You for the gift of my salvation. Thank you for clothing me with Your garment of Righteousness. Help me never to take it off. In the name of Yeshua my Lord and Saviour I pray. Amen.

I pray this inspires you to be more and do more for Yeshua Ha Mashiach (Jesus Christ).

#WordforToday 22nd February 2018 I am not created for mediocrity (Part 2)

You are the light of the world. (Matthew 5:14)

As the light of the world (in Christ) we are not created to be mediocre. In my last blog, I mentioned that before we can transform others, communities or the world, we need to first transform ourselves. The grace of God that we carry through Jesus has given us immeasurable gifts. But how can we use these gifts if we are not even aware of them. Understanding who you are is one of the important enablers of living as light of the world. Taking the time to discover your strengths (and weaknesses) will help you to identify and use your gifts.

If you are struggling in your career as an example, understanding what you are good at and what you are not good at will help you to assess whether you are in the wrong career. It is not all about your enemy wanting to make life difficult for you.

One of the ways that helped me to discover my purpose was taking a journey of self-discovery. As I began to understand those things I do and do well with enjoyment and passion, I began to understand God’s purpose for my life. Studying the bible helped me to understand that God has fashioned me with gifts for the work He would have me do. The revelation of my new identity as a son of God gave me the confidence to use my gifts. There is no way I would be in the wrong career, miserable, under-performing or mediocre when I am using the gift in me in Christ.

We sometimes blame the wrong people for our own mistakes and bad decisions. We take some decisions because of our own desires. We look at the ingredient of someone else’s success and we want to mix our own exactly like that. No two persons, even twins have been created with exactly the same DNA.

Every child of God must seek to understand the skills, abilities and talents God has put in them. Study yourself for what you like and dislike; ask those around you for the strengths they see in you; ask your maker for revelation of His gifts in you. Then critically look at where you are in life right now, what you are doing at this time in your life. Are you using those abilities, talents and skills? If yes, fantastic. If no, you will be like I was eight years ago. In a place where I was not happy, fulfilled and performing optimally.

https://rochemamabolo.files.wordpress.com/2014/02/mediocrity.jpg
Knowing my gifts and knowing Christ gave me the courage to take a step of faith by taking the decision to live a purposeful life. A life where I am fully utilizing the gifts God has put in me. It took a journey of self-discovery and understanding my identity in Jesus to take that bold and courageous step.

Don't settle for a mediocre life because it has become easy and comfortable. Remember it is living below who God has created you to be. The illumination of your light is barely enough to light your own life not to talk about those around you. It is so dim; you  need the light of others around you to lit your way.

Wake up! Do a deep reflection on who you are in Christ. Take off the garment of mediocrity. Be bold and courageous. Jesus died for you because you are worth it. Don't waste His grace in your life. Discover your gifts. Step out and use them. And let your light shine that people will see your good works and give glory to your Father in Heaven.

#PrayerforToday 22nd February 2018
Almighty Father, thank You for the gift of my salvation. May I live to fulfill Your purpose for my life. I take off the garment of mediocrity. I pray that any of Your children struggling with their identity in Christ will be transformed by the renewal of their mind. In the name of Yeshua my Lord and Saviour I pray. Amen.

I pray this inspires you to be more and do more for Yeshua Ha Mashiach (Jesus Christ).

#WordforToday 21 Feb 2018 I am not created for mediocrity

You are the light of the world. (Matthew 5:14)

Anyone who desires wisdom should open the bible and study. Every time I open my bible to study, I get immersed in the nuggets of wisdom. I am amazed that many Christians are not transformed by what they read in the Holy Scriptures.

One of the reasons why I became so passionate about leadership was my concern about the gap between what the bible says believers are - the salt of the earth and the light of the world - and what the reality is. Reading and re-reading, meditating on the word of God continues to show that many of us Christians do not truly understand our identity in Christ not to talk about living it. I believe if we do, our light will shine so brightly. Everywhere we go we become agents of positive transformation. We are light and light is good (Genesis 1:4).

Let us look around us in our communities, apart from Sundays when we see the congregations of Christians, how and where are we transforming families, communities, nations and the world? And please don’t say they do it in secret so that our Father will reward us in secret. Even if in secret, the impact will be evidenced openly. Where there is light, it is not possible for darkness to dominate. Our light must shine in the darkness of this world.

Jesus is the light of the world. In Him is life and that life is the light of mankind (John 1:3). In Him we have life and we become children of light. How can we carry the light of Christ and we are not lighting up our world?

For anyone to transform others you must first transform your own life; your way of thinking, your belief system, your mind-set. You have to understand yourself, God’s gift in you and be aligned to God’s purpose.

As children of light, we should be operating in excellence. I have come across some
https://rochemamabolo.files.wordpress.com/2014/02/mediocrity.jpg
Christian who are struggling in their job. Some are terribly unhappy; some are not excellent in their work and some operate in mediocrity. It is very sad because these are not reflection of who we are meant to be.

Many are in the wrong job for their skill-set; some are too laziness to put in the hard work required; others have not bothered to develop or increase their knowledge and skill set, they are operating with undeveloped or out of date skills. Some operate using another person’s destiny as a yardstick. Because somethings worked well for someone does not mean it will be same for you.

I am of the school of thought that believes, knowing Jesus gives you unlimited access to wisdom, knowledge and understanding. But, to apply this in your life, you must have a level of self-awareness about yourself as God created you and your new identity in Jesus.

#WordforToday 20th February 2018 Because you are worth it.

“I will have mercy on whomever I will have mercy, and I will have compassion on whomever I will have compassion.” So then it  is not of him who wills, nor of him who runs, but of God who shows mercy. Romans 9:15‭-‬16 NKJV.

This bible passage is very weighty. We can not try to bribe God with our good works. God does not look at our religiosity to show us mercy. It does not matter how much anointing you and I carry or the miracles we do. This is humbling isn’t it. Who are we that we are so proud? What have we accomplished that makes us arrogant?

We have examples of godly men and women in the bible to learn from. They enjoyed the favour of the Almighty God. One such person was Noah. He lived in a most wicked and evil generation. The bible recorded that Noah found grace in the eyes of the LORD. He was a just man, perfect in his generations. Noah walked with God.” Genesis 6:8-9 NKJV. He found favour because he was a just man, perfect in his generation and he walked with God.

We found favour with God because of His mercy. As sinners, not just or perfect like Noah, God showed us love. He gave His son to die for our sins. We were not just but unjust. We were not perfect but imperfect. We were not righteous in His sight but sinful human beings yet He made a way not by law but by grace to become sinless and righteous in His sight. Isn't this a glorious act of mercy and compassion? By His will, he showed us mercy.

For His own reason, He counted us worthy of His mercy and compassion. He gave us His Son because to Him, you and I are worth it.

#WordforToday 16th February 2018 Death to sin...permanently

What then? Shall we sin because we are not under law but under grace? Certainly not!
Romans 6:15 NKJV

We are not under law but grace. We do not need to do the works of the law to be made righteous with God. It is by faith in the redemptive work of Christ on the Cross. We have also been redeemed from the bondage of sin.

This week, we have been discussing our victory over sin through life in Christ Jesus. We have to let this knowledge sink into our mindset if we are to live victoriously. Sin has no power over us. We are no longer slave to it. The ability is in us by the Holy Spirit within us to live above sin. Nevertheless it requires action from our part.

Almighty God by His infinite Wisdom has given mankind freewill - to choose. We can choose to obey Him or to disobey. Adam made the choice to do the latter. With the gift of grace we can choose the former - to obey completely. Choose to present yourself as slave of righteousness to obedience not sin to disobedience. Apostle Paul said we are slaves to what we choose to obey. Who do you obey?

Slave in this sense is not being sold without a choice to serve a master but a freewill decision to serve The Master - Christ Jesus as a bondservant (see blog on bondservant). It is a conscious decision to present our bodies as a living sacrifice, to take off the old man and live in the newness of life in Jesus. Holiness become a lifestyle and the end reward is eternal life.

Jesus has done the work needed to triumph over sin. We have to do our part by appropriating this power first through faith and then applying it through  decisions and actions we take.

In Romans chapter 7, the imagery of a woman bound to her husband in marriage until death is a powerful one. As long as your spouse is alive, you are bound to him by law. But once he is dead the law no longer applies and you are free to marry another.

The law as the way of righteousness with God is no longer applicable to us. Righteousness is by grace through Jesus Christ. By the death of Jesus we have become dead to the law. The law therefore has no power to arouse the sinful passions in our body. We have presented our bodies as living sacrifice unto God, and our members to righteousness.

Because we are freed from by law, we are now joined to Christ as His bride. You can't be married to two persons at the same time - to the law and to Christ. If you are still under the law, then your marriage to Christ is null and void. I am a bride of Christ. What about you?

The expectation as a bride of Christ is to bear fruit to God. Fruit is the outwork of righteousness. Our fruit should be the manifestation of the character of Christ in our life. Fruit is the evidence of holiness in our life. Fruit is doing the work God entrusted to us; fulfilling our redemptive purpose through the use of our gifts. Fruit is winning more souls into the Kingdom as ambassador of Christ and His disciple.

A disciple of Christ is no longer under sin. Put sin to death permanently in your life.

#PrayerforToday 16th February 2018
Almighty Father, thank You for the gift of my salvation. Help me to have the mindset of one who is no longer under sin but the power of Christ. I am no longer under law but under grace. I will walk in victory over sin. I will be fruitful and bear fruits of righteousness. In the name of Yeshua my Lord and Saviour I pray. Amen.

I pray this inspires you to be more and do more for Yeshua Ha Mashiach (Jesus Christ).

#WordforToday 15th February 2018 Victory over the power of sin (3)

Therefore, we were buried with Him through baptism into death, that just as Christ was raised from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life...For if we have been united together in the likeness of His death, certainly we also shall be in the likeness of His resurrection, knowing this, that our old man was crucified with Him, that the body of sin might be done away with, that we should no longer be slaves of sin. Romans 6: 4- 6 NKJV

Having crucified our old man by baptism in the likeness of the death of Jesus, we are no longer slaves of sin.
1) We should walk in the newness of life (Rom 6:4). A spiritual life manifested through our physical one. Walking, being lead and living in the Holy Spirit.

2) Reckon (consider) our self to be dead to sin and alive to God in Jesus Christ. (Rom 6:11). A sinless life is only possible through life in Christ Jesus who lives to the Father by His complete obedience. Our life to God must be in complete obedience.

3) We must not let sin reign in our physical obey by obeying it’s lust. (Rom 6:12). Avoiding doing anything that is contrary to the commandment of God. Studying the bible to understand the mind of God. Knowing the bible for our self. Letting the Holy Spirit speak to us. Be like Jesus - determine to obey our heavenly Father. Letting our body be instruments of righteousness to God not unrighteousness to sin. (Rom 6:13)

Many Christians struggle with sin. And let’s be honest, we will continue to contend with it because there will always be temptation all around us. We must be like the second Adam not the first. The first had eternity in his grasp but could not resist temptation and disobeyed. The second one, our Lord and Savior understood the glory awaiting Him, even with the cry in the garden of Gethsemane asking His Father to take away the cup He was about to drink, His heart of obedience took dominion. And he was able to say, “nevertheless not my will but let Yours be done”. Complete obedience even unto death.

Let us ask our self, would we be able to stand on the side of God in complete obedience when we are faced with the challenge of trials and temptation to disobey the Almighty Father?

We can and we must live victoriously over sin. For sin shall not have dominion over us, for we are not under law but under grace. (Romans 6:14 NKJV). Sin has been knocked out of my life.  Halleluyah.

#WordforToday 14th February 2018 Victory over the power of sin (2)

“What shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin that grace may abound? Certainly not! How shall we who died to sin live any longer in it?” ‭‭Romans‬ ‭6:1-2‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

We are still exploring the victory over the power of sin.

Jesus broke the power of sin in our life by His death and resurrection. He did the physical and the spiritual work required. How do we access this victory and live continuously in it? I believe there are the spiritual and the physical aspect to this. We start in the physical, then the spiritual. There are some things we do in the physical that has significant spiritual implication. That is why we should not play with or under-estimate the power in our spiritual life.

The work that Jesus did is multi-faceted. His sacrifice justifies us from the guilt of sin and made us right with Almighty Father; “even the righteousness of God, through faith in Jesus Christ, to all and on all who believe. For there is no difference;...being justified freely by His grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus, whom God set forth as a propitiation by His blood, through faith, to demonstrate His righteousness, because in His forbearance God had passed over the sins that were previously committed,...Therefore we conclude that a man is justified by faith apart from the deeds of the law.” ‭‭Romans‬ ‭3:22, 24-25, 28‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

He also redeemed us from the bondage of sin. “knowing that Christ, having been raised from the dead, dies no more. Death no longer has dominion over Him. For the death that He died, He died to sin once for all; but the life that He lives, He lives to God. Likewise you also, reckon yourselves to be dead indeed to sin, but alive to God in Christ Jesus our Lord.” Romans‬ ‭6:9-11‬ ‭NKJV‬‬.

Our victory over sin and ability to live in this victory is through life in Jesus Christ. Life in Him not outside of Him.

Jesus died and he rose again to live forever. We too must put to death the old life - which is the body of sin by being baptised into Jesus. Apostle Paul highlighted the significance of baptism “Or do you not know that as many of us as were baptized into Christ Jesus were baptized into His death? Therefore we were buried with Him through baptism into death, that just as Christ was raised from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life.” Romans‬ ‭6:3-4‬ ‭NKJV‬‬.

Now there might be a lot of debate on the importance or necessity of baptism by immersion. I am not getting into that debate but sticking with what the bible says. As Paul said, baptism is a likeness of the death of Jesus; “For if we have been united together in the likeness of His death, certainly we also shall be in the likeness of His resurrection, knowing this, that our old man was crucified with Him, that the body of sin might be done away with, that we should no longer be slaves of sin.” ‭‭Romans‬ ‭6:5-6‬ ‭NKJV‬‬.

Baptism unites us together with Jesus in the likeness of his death and by His resurrection, we shall be in the likeness of His resurrection as well, then there is no argument. Be baptized. Jesus himself said; “He who believes and is baptized will be saved;...”Mark‬ ‭16:16‬ ‭NKJV‬‬.

Have you been baptized by immersion? If not prayerfully reconsider. Baptism into Christ Jesus signifies we were buried with Him through baptism into death. And because He was raised from the dead by the Father, assuredly we also are raised to walk victoriously over sin in the newness of life. The physical act has spiritual implication. What have you got to lose?

Give sin a knockout.

#WordforToday 13 February 2018 Victory over the power of sin (1)

For the death that He died, He died to sin once for all; but the life that He lives, He lives to God. Likewise you also, reckon yourselves to be dead indeed to sin, but alive to God in Christ Jesus our Lord. Romans 6:10-11

As I read Romans chapter 5 and 6, I am persuaded that every confessed born again child of God must study in depth these two chapters to understand the work that Jesus did, why he did it and what the impact and implication is for their life.

The grace of God in salvation through faith in Jesus is available to all and on all. I break this down to be, access is open to all but imputed on each individually.
Justification by the blood and reconciliation with the Father by the death of Jesus is accepted by faith. This is a spiritual act of faith. If not how can you think the blood of Jesus saves?

One of the impact and implication of what Jesus’ death and resurrection did was to nullify the power of sin in our life and thereby giving us the hope of eternal life. At the fall of Adam, sin took dominion over mankind, transferred by the seed of man. The wickedness of man became great on earth (still is by the way), that every intent of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually. And this grieved the heart of the Almighty Father (Genesis 6:5-6). He wiped out the world except for seven people.

Despite this, even after the flood the bible still declared that the heart is deceitful above all things and desperately wicked (Jer 17:9-10). Man was still under the dominion of sin.

Hallelujah, Jesus came to break this power once and for all. The sin that came through the disobedience of one man to all, is replaced by the the victory over sin by the obedience of one man - Jesus - to all. The access to this victory is by faith in him.

We have power over sin. We have the ability to live holy. We have been blessed with every spiritual blessing in heavenly realms. But how can we who now have dominion over sin continue to live in it? Why can't we knockout sin once and for all?

Therefore, having been justified by faith, we have[a] peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom also we have access by faith into this grace in which we stand. (Romans 5: 1-2 NKJV)

The first Adam was created sinless. He even had access to the Tree of Life in the garden of Eden. This sinless life was based on the condition of complete obedience to his Creator. As we know the story he disobeyed and he was cut off from his God. And because of his sin and through his seed sin gained dominion over mankind and with it, the end product - death.

Jesus, was like a second Adam, born sinless - of the holy Spirit not the seed of man. He lived a life of total obedience to His Father. By giving his sinless life as a sacrifice for all, those who believe and have faith in him have access to the gift of righteousness with God.

The mistake many christian make is that, having received this grace by believing and accepting Jesus as Lord and Saviour, they think they can still continue in sin. The first Adam was without sin at the beginning and he needed to continue as such through obedience. His disobedience lost him eternal life. The second Adam, our Saviour Jesus was born without sin and continued without sin through his complete obedience. Note that partial obedience, sometimes obedience, few times disobedience is same as disobedience.

How then can we continue with disobedience to our Heavenly Father, and still think we can retain His grace?

Lets be perfectly clear, the bible says “For if we sin willfully after we have received the knowledge of the truth, there no longer remains a sacrifice for sins, but a certain fearful expectation of judgment, and fiery indignation which will devour the adversaries.” Hebrews‬ ‭10:26-27‬ ‭NKJV‬‬.

If one can sin wilfully (synonyms - deliberate, purposeful, intentionally) then it is possible to be deliberate, intentional and purposeful about complete obedience to Almighty God.

Are you still walking in complete or partial obedience? Or total disobedience? Repent today for tomorrow may be too late.

#WordforToday 9th February 2018 Are you a hypocrite?

You who make your boast in the law, do you dishonor God through breaking the law? For “the name of God is blasphemed among the Gentiles because of you,” as it is written.
Romans 2:23-24 NKJV

Yesterday I blogged about the types of fruit we manifest as a Christian. Anyone who identifies as a Christian is declaring that He is a follower of Jesus Christ.  That he has taken on the lifestyle and character of his master.

Jesus set the standard he expects from His followers. Your life is now a reflection of Who He is - at least it should be.

In the passage above, Paul was addressing the Christian Jew in Rome. He admonished them that as Jews they had the law. They boasted in knowing the will of God through the law. As followers of Jesus, sanctified by His blood and having the Holy Spirit to lead and direct us in the perfect will of God, we also can boast like the Jews with their law.

However the rebuke came because those that knew the law and the will of God, though they taught it were the ones breaking it. Let us bring it down to you and I as a Christian. By our identity we tell people these are our principles. Do we practice what we preach?

You, therefore, who teach another, do you not teach yourself? You who preach that a man should not steal, do you steal? You who say, “Do not commit adultery,” do you commit adultery? You who abhor idols, do you rob temples? Romans 2:21-22 NKJV.

Is your life a reflection of who you say you are? Or is the name of Jesus blasphemed amongst unbelievers because of you?

#PrayerforToday 9th February 2018
Almighty Father, thank You for the gift of my salvation. May the Christian values be reflected in my life and lifestyle. May I never bring reproach on Your Holy name. In the name of Yeshua my Lord and Saviour I pray. Amen

I pray this inspires you to be more and do more for Yeshua Ha Mashiach (Jesus Christ).

#WordforToday 8th February 2018 A life of rotten fruit?

You will know them by their fruits... Matthew 7:16

How possible is it for a fig tree to fruit apples or vice-versa? The fruit of a tree comes from within the tree. A tree cannot bring forth what is not in it.
A born-again Christian has a unique identity not only in name but a regenerated life. That life becomes like a tree, that is rooted in Jesus Christ. A tree that is fruitful. A tree that brings forth fruits of the Kingdom life.

A born-again Christian whose life is not manifesting Kingdom fruits will otherwise bring forth worldly fruits. A life that is reflective of Kingdom values and principles is the evidence of our faith.

Many, unfortunately by their character brings reproach to the faith. It is shameful when you hear people say “And he calls himself a Christian,” when someone who claims to be one behaved otherwise. A fruit of the Kingdom is love, yet you are full of hatred. Another is peace but you are a stirrer of discord. Honesty is a delicious fruit but you find bitter lies sweet to your soul.

The standard we expect from the teachers and preachers of the word of God is very high. Why should your life be opposite of what you teach or preach about? We should stop making excuses for spiritual leaders – they are just mere men; they are still human; no-one is perfect. What rubbish. Such are hypocritical Pharisees that Jesus warned about. Dear under-Shepherd, preach first to thyself. Show us the Kingdom by your action.

What is the point of calling yourself a Christian if your life is like that of an unbeliever? You are bringing reproach unto the name of the Almighty God whom you claim to be called by. Get rid of your rotten fruits and be grafted to the True Vine.

#PrayerforToday 8th February 2018
Almighty Father, thank You for the gift of my salvation. Help me oh Lord to be true to You. Help me to live a live that demonstrate Christ in me. Let my life reflect the fruits of the Kingdom to the glory of Your name. In the name of Yeshua my Lord and Saviour I pray. Amen

I pray this inspires you to be more and do more for Yeshua Ha Mashiach (Jesus Christ).
