#WordforToday 15th February 2018 Victory over the power of sin (3)

Therefore, we were buried with Him through baptism into death, that just as Christ was raised from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life...For if we have been united together in the likeness of His death, certainly we also shall be in the likeness of His resurrection, knowing this, that our old man was crucified with Him, that the body of sin might be done away with, that we should no longer be slaves of sin. Romans 6: 4- 6 NKJV

Having crucified our old man by baptism in the likeness of the death of Jesus, we are no longer slaves of sin.
1) We should walk in the newness of life (Rom 6:4). A spiritual life manifested through our physical one. Walking, being lead and living in the Holy Spirit.

2) Reckon (consider) our self to be dead to sin and alive to God in Jesus Christ. (Rom 6:11). A sinless life is only possible through life in Christ Jesus who lives to the Father by His complete obedience. Our life to God must be in complete obedience.

3) We must not let sin reign in our physical obey by obeying it’s lust. (Rom 6:12). Avoiding doing anything that is contrary to the commandment of God. Studying the bible to understand the mind of God. Knowing the bible for our self. Letting the Holy Spirit speak to us. Be like Jesus - determine to obey our heavenly Father. Letting our body be instruments of righteousness to God not unrighteousness to sin. (Rom 6:13)

Many Christians struggle with sin. And let’s be honest, we will continue to contend with it because there will always be temptation all around us. We must be like the second Adam not the first. The first had eternity in his grasp but could not resist temptation and disobeyed. The second one, our Lord and Savior understood the glory awaiting Him, even with the cry in the garden of Gethsemane asking His Father to take away the cup He was about to drink, His heart of obedience took dominion. And he was able to say, “nevertheless not my will but let Yours be done”. Complete obedience even unto death.

Let us ask our self, would we be able to stand on the side of God in complete obedience when we are faced with the challenge of trials and temptation to disobey the Almighty Father?

We can and we must live victoriously over sin. For sin shall not have dominion over us, for we are not under law but under grace. (Romans 6:14 NKJV). Sin has been knocked out of my life.  Halleluyah.

#PrayerforToday 15th February 2018
Almighty Father, thank You for the gift of my salvation.
Everlasting Father, thank You for your abounding grace in my life. Thank You for the work of redemption and salvation by Jesus Christ. Help me and all Your children to walk in perfect victory over sin. Grant us even more grace to walk in the newness of life; to be dead to sin and alive to You. May we present our bodies as a living sacrifice and an instrument of righteousness to You. In the name of Yeshua my Lord and Saviour I pray. Amen.

I pray this inspires you to be more and do more for Yeshua Ha Mashiach (Jesus Christ).
