#WordforToday 9th February 2018 Are you a hypocrite?

You who make your boast in the law, do you dishonor God through breaking the law? For “the name of God is blasphemed among the Gentiles because of you,” as it is written.
Romans 2:23-24 NKJV

Yesterday I blogged about the types of fruit we manifest as a Christian. Anyone who identifies as a Christian is declaring that He is a follower of Jesus Christ.  That he has taken on the lifestyle and character of his master.

Jesus set the standard he expects from His followers. Your life is now a reflection of Who He is - at least it should be.

In the passage above, Paul was addressing the Christian Jew in Rome. He admonished them that as Jews they had the law. They boasted in knowing the will of God through the law. As followers of Jesus, sanctified by His blood and having the Holy Spirit to lead and direct us in the perfect will of God, we also can boast like the Jews with their law.

However the rebuke came because those that knew the law and the will of God, though they taught it were the ones breaking it. Let us bring it down to you and I as a Christian. By our identity we tell people these are our principles. Do we practice what we preach?

You, therefore, who teach another, do you not teach yourself? You who preach that a man should not steal, do you steal? You who say, “Do not commit adultery,” do you commit adultery? You who abhor idols, do you rob temples? Romans 2:21-22 NKJV.

Is your life a reflection of who you say you are? Or is the name of Jesus blasphemed amongst unbelievers because of you?

#PrayerforToday 9th February 2018
Almighty Father, thank You for the gift of my salvation. May the Christian values be reflected in my life and lifestyle. May I never bring reproach on Your Holy name. In the name of Yeshua my Lord and Saviour I pray. Amen

I pray this inspires you to be more and do more for Yeshua Ha Mashiach (Jesus Christ).
