#WordforToday 02 April 2018 Hands outstretched empty

..And remember the words of the Lord Jesus, that He said, ‘It is more blessed to give than to receive. (Acts 20:25)

I have come to the realisation and acceptance that humankind by default love to receive (more) than give. I’m not talking about money only.

A new born baby is given milk (breast or formula) and learn to cry when s/he wants it;

A toddler stretches the hand more often than not to be given something;

A child expects to receive from their parent or careers...for their needs; gifts from aunties/uncles/family;

A teenager wants to receive love from others;

An adult wants to receive from the world around them;

Note every sphere of life, the complaint is always more about what others are doing to you (receiving) than what you are doing to others (giving).

From now onward, before you complain about what others have done/not done, take a pause and ask yourself - ‘What have I given to others?’ After-all it is more blessed to give than to receive.
