Living the will of God - Part 3

Dear friends, as a christian it is easy to focus on the will of God that is about good things for us; have a life partner, being fruitful, prospering in the work of our hands, good health, living to a good old age and so forth. All about what Elohim will do for us. What about our own responsibility towards Him?

Part 3 of this series will focus on our responsibility towards our Almighty Father. This is the core of living the will of God.

To have a relationship with Him.  When mankind fell from the perfection God purposed. By His loving grace, He sent His Son Jesus to reconcile us back to Himself. His will for this relationship is to love Him with all our heart, mind and soul.
Our life ministry is to know, do the will of the Father and be fruitful unto Him.
Jesus said to him, “‘You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind.’38 This is the first and great commandment..." Matthew 22: 37

To live a life of thanksgiving. By our self we can do nothing.
“in everything give thanks; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.”
I Thessalonians 5:18 NKJV

To be willing to suffer for Christ. The genuineness of our faith and willingness to do God's will, will be tested by fire.
“Therefore let those who suffer according to the will of God commit their souls to Him in doing good, as to a faithful Creator.” I Peter 4:19 NKJV

“Therefore, since Christ suffered for us in the flesh, arm yourselves also with the same mind, for he who has suffered in the flesh has ceased from sin, that he no longer should live the rest of his time in the flesh for the lusts of men, but for the will of God.” I Peter 4:1-2 NKJV

To finish the work Jesus entrusted to us: Our priority on this earth realm is to finish the work of spreading the gospel to all nations.
“And Jesus came and spoke to them, saying, “All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth. Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.” Amen.” Matthew 28:18-20 NKJV

We are to be consumed with fulfillment of this great commission. Not to become so absorbed in the things of the world at the expense of the ministry the Father has called us to.

“I can of Myself do nothing. As I hear, I judge; and My judgment is righteous, because I do not seek My own will but the will of the Father who sent Me.”
John 5:30 NKJV.

We do not seek our own will but that of the Father. We will be fooling ourselves if we think because we call on Jesus, we will enter the Kingdom of God. Only those who do the His will.

"Not everyone who calls out to me, Lord! Lord! will enter the Kingdom of Heaven. Only those who actually do the will of my father in heaven will enter." Matthew 7:21

How should we align our self with the will of God? Watch out for part 4
